Exceptions and acceptance

Design the failure paths before the happy path goes live.

A useful deployment specification defines what happens when capture, data, connectivity or business rules fail, and it gives the pilot a measurable release gate.

Exception handling

    The captured image is blurred, incomplete or associated with the wrong item.

    Fail the authentication step, preserve the rejected evidence and require a correctly bound recapture before shelving.

  2. 02

    The item fails authentication or has conflicting product data.

    Move it to a controlled exception status and prevent normal location or fulfillment transactions.

  3. 03

    Image upload is pending while the barcode event has synchronized.

    Keep the workflow incomplete and retry the paired evidence with one transaction identifier until both records are acknowledged.
